Two most exciting moments in NTU -

1. Waiting for the results page to load after entering your matric number and password; and
2. Hitting the "Add courses to STARS" button during course registration.

What experience will it be this semester?

macD is really smart.

they added mega mac and mega spicy to the permanent menu
but
as i recall when they first introduced mcspicy
it was "mcspicy double"
i.e. the original already had two patties
i.e. they secretly took out one patty, and raised the price!

damn sneaky!!

and their new marketing gimmick is damn addictive still! shucks
人是犯贱的

Birthday Post
304 photos, 4 days, 3 "surprised" videos, 2 karaoke sessions, 1 sick person

There is no harsher reminder of an aging body than to fall sick on the very day of your 21st birthday. But thanks to my great foresight, most of the birthday celebrations were over by then so here's a short photo recap.

28th July: Kbox with TIP gang

the cheap $10 promotion at kbox safra

high on padthai from "thai express"

laughing at the "mum mum mum mah" lyrics of pokerface

the surprise which actually worked, but I made them reenact the whole thing for the surprise to be caught on video
funny how we realised there may be smoke detectors only after blowing out the candles and were waving frantically to clear the air

30th July: Crystal Jade steamboat buffet + free flow xlb with 2/4
much anticipated buffet (extra emphasis on the free flow xlb!)
initial plan was to kill off 5 longs but according to sk I only managed 3 (I think it's less though)
and wl had h1n1?!!!

celebrating 9 years of friendship

XIAO LONG BAO!! I swear this photo has the power to make someone crave xlb.

my much practiced "surprised" look.

well, as they say, the size of the plate is proportional to the size of the head. HAHAHA

I love humiliating my friends on my blog

ditto above

the official photographer of the day with her splitting fringe!

I think no one can carry off the stoic expression better than wy. (part of wu lian pai series)

"on the same page you will spend the least time and the most time reading the messages"
- pristine

I am still very much in love with the RAWKZZZ expression

2nd August: Lunch with NJ classmates, which evolved into a mahjong session
"theme" (no one really followed): back to NJ

grey, red and nj pe tee
(xueli damn onz bring backpack somemore)

NJ TIE!!

damn luguangzhong style

insist on doing RAWKZZ at every outing HAHA

currently watching this:

Great show! A cop series, very little romance element involved, so I think even guys will like it. Very action packed, I've yet to come across this genre of drama from Taiwan before. Love the funny side of zaizai, and most of the acting is great too. Like this:

yeah, it's 王传一, getting hooked on drugs. Never thought he could look so hideous. Think he probably referred to Batman's The Joker for his character, totally looks like a madman.

Here's the sneak preview (a very very movie like trailer!) PROBABLY CONTAINS SPOILERS..

Go watch it if you have time! I'm hooked.

Happy April Fool's!
this post will disappear tomorrow. haha

Here's my likely blog schedule for the next quarter: (to preempt your tags)

School: Exam's coming in TWO WEEKS, so probably going to disappear for another 1 mth. Just pray my tagboard doesn't disappear by then. (pls keep tagging.) Thankfully most of my youtube shows have ended. Left with the Rainie show now, which I admit is quite lousy. Can't stand the long periods of silence and background music.

Internship: at Toyota, no details yet, but starting on 11th May. Hope I am kept busy enough, I hate feeling sleepy at work! SY! Hope you get in too.

Next sem of school: HK HK here I come! BUY, eat and STAR SPOTTING (lin feng!) muhahaha. Oh, let me know if you're coming HK in Dec. Need people to spread my luggage load around lol. Dear readers, you can start preparing shopping lists! I will do my best to buy. (at most, mail back lo. you can pay.)

Craving for that cup of java chip from Starbucks ever since I bought a book by Starbucks CEO. And I haven't even started reading. Somehow the idea that I should read the book at Starbucks is very appealing. Anyone interested?

Caught The Curious Case of Benjamin Button. Felt that the movie was a little too long. Perhaps the middle parts could be more concise, since the bulk of the story lies in the last hour. Was looking forward to how Brad Pitt can look younger than he really is, and well! He looks like Zac Efron when he's 20+? Totally wrinkle-free..

Found the movie inspiring in some ways. Two particular scenes stuck. (spoiler alert!!)

1. Things can turn out very differently in a matter of seconds..

A woman in Paris was on her way to go shopping, but she had forgotten her coat - went back to get it. When she had gotten her coat, the phone had rung, so she'd stopped to answer it; talked for a couple of minutes. While the woman was on the phone, Daisy was rehearsing for a performance at the Paris Opera House. And while she was rehearsing, the woman, off the phone now, had gone outside to get a taxi. Now a taxi driver had dropped off a fare earlier and had stopped to get a cup of coffee. And all the while, Daisy was rehearsing. And this cab driver, who dropped off the earlier fare; who'd stopped to get the cup of coffee, had picked up the lady who was going to shopping, and had missed getting an earlier cab. The taxi had to stop for a man crossing the street, who had left for work five minutes later than he normally did, because he forgot to set off his alarm. While that man, late for work, was crossing the street, Daisy had finished rehearsing, and was taking a shower. And while Daisy was showering, the taxi was waiting outside a boutique for the woman to pick up a package, which hadn't been wrapped yet, because the girl who was supposed to wrap it had broken up with her boyfriend the night before, and forgot. When the package was wrapped, the woman, who was back in the cab, was blocked by a delivery truck, all the while Daisy was getting dressed. The delivery truck pulled away and the taxi was able to move, while Daisy, the last to be dressed, waited for one of her friends, who had broken a shoelace. While the taxi was stopped, waiting for a traffic light, Daisy and her friend came out the back of the theater.

And if only one thing had happened differently: if that shoelace hadn't broken; or that delivery truck had moved moments earlier; or that package had been wrapped and ready, because the girl hadn't broken up with her boyfriend; or that man had set his alarm and got up five minutes earlier; or that taxi driver hadn't stopped for a cup of coffee; or that woman had remembered her coat, and got into an earlier cab, Daisy and her friend would've crossed the street, and the taxi would've driven by. But life being what it is - a series of intersecting lives and incidents, out of anyone's control - that taxi did not go by, and that driver was momentarily distracted, and that taxi hit Daisy, and her leg was crushed.

2. The ending! My takeaway was that the world has plans and places for everyone.

Some people are born to sit by a river, some get struck by lightning, some have an ear for music, some are artists, some swim, some know buttons, some know Shakespeare, some are mothers and some people dance.

Toyota interview tomorrow. Wish me luck!

MY TAGBOARD'S BACK!

Went 林宥嘉‘s concert yesterday. Thank goodness he didn't 脸臭臭!!! It's been long since I really liked an artist, because most out there are either looks-only (farenheit), or those who can sing have too much attitude (joanna?), or are otherwise dishonest (cough** yangzongwei!!). But for this guy, it's totally just RESPECT. I could really feel his humble attitude towards being able to perform with the help of all the teachers. He thanked them within the first 3 songs of the whole concert. And I mean really like facing them and deep-bowing. Not just saysay only and backfacing them. It's not something I see a lot after going for so many concerts the past year. Was also quite touched by the jian chi in his music. And I liked that the focus of the concert wasn't on performing his own songs. He didn't even sing 伯乐 which is like his zhu da song?

I did feel that the flow of music could be better because the changes in songs were a bit too drastic. (or maybe it's supposed to be like that, given that the theme of the show is 迷宫?) Like after a series of slow songs, he suddenly sings a fast-tempo one, then the next song is slow song again. And his song choice was really old!! e.g: 对你爱不完,青苹果乐园,不是每段恋曲都有美好回忆,失恋阵线联盟,blue suede shoes, AND GET THIS.. HE SANG 叉烧包!!!

广东包呀 上海包呀 广东包呀 上海包

too much chilli crab and chicken rice..

damn 陶醉..

Add Videoattempting to dance

the little nonya singer.. YES she did sing little nonya
(my friend commented that she probably doesn't know what she's singing, since her chinese has erm plenty of room for improvement..)

for wy's welfare

more welfare..

ella: which one of us would you see as most your-type?

WY: WHY NOT ME?
XM: WHY NOT ME?????

I like this photo. makes him look very jap-ish! actually, don't even look like him. HAHA.

BANZAI! (sk will know what I mean)

???

check out the hair!

I particularly liked this song that he sang (cover of eason's 月黑风高). Wanted to cry when I saw the lyrics! About this taxi driver who was working hard to ensure his son gets a better life. (The video's not mine, although I did take videos of other songs)

Overall, a very good concert, with two (planned?) encores. Certainly comparable with Amei's. I don't think anyone will doubt his 实力 after watching this.
